About 1 hour from São Paulo, first visit a two-centennial coffee farm from the Golden Coffee era of Brazil. The farm has gone through several economic cycles in history such as sugar cane, production of grapes and table wines, coffee and now tourism.
Take an informative tour to learn all about the process of harvesting, roasting and all the work involved in producing the beans. Tour through the plantation, seedling nursery, shaker, washer, benefit, roasting, museum, tasting of different types of ground coffee, jams and honey. We'll pick you up at your hotel to set off for the farm to discover the secrets of Brazilian coffee culture.
After a 1 hour drive, we'll arrive at our destination. There, you’ll be welcomed with a breakfast at the farm. After tasting the delicious Brazilian coffee, we'll start the tour around the farm. (From Tuesday to Thursday the breakfast is a nice bakery a few minutes before getting to the farm)
Historical Introduction
First, we'll go through the history of coffee, from its discovery to its arrival in Brazil in the 18th century. We'll learn about the importance of this product in the socio-economic development of the State of Sao Paulo and also of Brazil.
After this historical introduction, the practical part will follow. We'll learn about the process of growing and processing the beans by visiting different parts of the farm, including the coffee plantations and the machinery area.
Slavery in Brazil.
We'll also discover the darker past of this place by visiting the old senzala. This building housed the slaves who worked on the estate until 1888, when slavery was abolished in Brazil.
Lunchtime
Then we'll stop for lunch where you can choose from a variety of dishes such as rice and beans, pork or chicken stew, pumpkin quibebe, manioc polenta, feijoada, farofa or couscous. For dessert, you'll taste a pumpkin and papaya sweet, served in wine syrup.
Coffee Tasting
You'll also have the opportunity to sample different types of ground coffee in a tasting, enjoying the earthy aromas of each variety. In the store, you can also buy all kinds of products such as coffee powder, coffee liqueur, pure or cinnamon cachaça, jams, honey and much more.
Goat and Cow Cheese Farm
Then visit a family-run goat and cow cheese farm and learn how the cheese is made from fresh milk to curds, washed down with cheese tastings and interesting stories.
Finally, we'll return to Sao Paulo and drop you off at your hotel.

For long-distance trips, we may have to ask the state or federal road department authorization for taking open highways with big vehicles like vans and buses. Therefore, it’s extremely important to book tours with long-distance pick-ups or drop-offs with at least 24 hours in advance.
If big vehicles like a van or a bus is traveling without the required documents and the police pulls it over, the trip cannot continue.

The guide may decline to participate in high-priced activities that fall out of the scope of a regular tour such as going to fancy restaurants or anything out of a standard tour. In these cases, if customer wishes to have the guide as a permanent companion, the guide’s expenses should be covered by the customer. Otherwise, the guide must wait for the customer just nearby to continue on the tour afterwards.
